KIDS!!!

Finally we got the kids from the airport!!! After being told only Dave could go get them at the gate... (which EVERYTIME even when I was just his girlfriend I was allowed to go get them with him, we figured the lady was having a bad day already, kinda made me mad but, I waited for them on the other side of security) anyways....we always have so much fun when they are here! Natalie saw her room for the first time and Ethan and Pookey are like best friends now! It was so cute, Ethan had Pookey's rope toy and was running her around the house with it (I tried to get a video of it but couldn't find my phone and by the time I found my camera that doesn't have a sound, the moment had passed). We then ate some lunch and took the dog for a nice walk to the dog park and then home. Dave mowed the lawn
while I got the art project set up....It was a mess but they had a blast! We even got Pookey to help with it! Here are some pictures of our fun...

when they were all done we cleaned the floor and all our limbs and let it sit on the floor to dry (I hung it up today in our hallway) and WE LOVE IT!! People pay money for this kind of stuff! Good job!!
After painting we took a little break, Ethan played some video games, Dave took a little nap and Natalie and I made a cake. A little while late Dave found out he's a great pancake maker and we made breakfast for dinner complete with pancakes, eggs, and bacon! After dinner the kids got their jams on, played with Pookey for a little while...
And then we went to see Zookeeper at the post movie theater (they are only open friday and sat night for one movie per showing, it only cost us that night $4.50! Dave and I has movie passes from a broken movie last week and the kids only are like $2.25. normally adult are $4.50). Ethan wasn't thrilled with it and couldn't sit still but I think Natalie enjoyed it. The first half was super funny! But the last half needed some work...We'll prob see it again as a rental. We went home and went right to bed for a 4:30 wake up call! Here's our yummy breakfast (the cake Natalie and I made since we couldn't eat it the night before and I cut up some apples for the road...who really wants to eat that early? But the kids begged for cake!)

we realized it was on video instead of picture...its super cute remember this is 4:45 in the morning!

picking up kids turned into a date instead

So Friday night Dave and I were supposed to go pick up the kids at 7:30. Long story short we ended up goofing around at temple square, the kid's flight was canceled. We were really upset not only because we didn't get to see the kids now until Sat morning now but that also meant that we had to drive another hour and a half back to Dugway that night and then do it again at the crack of dawn then  drive BACK to dugway again...to spend the precious hours of the day with the kids and then return them to the airport at 6:30am which meant we had to leave here by 5:00am Sunday morning... So we turned this event into a date instead, which worked out well because Dave had asked me (yes, he's still got it...he ASKED me) out on a date for Thursday night but, the only resuraunt on post was closing in 5 min when we got there. So our date existed of cuddling on the couch playing one of our favorite video games, uncharted, and watching scrubs (which we do every night before bed). It was fun but not really the date we had planned so anyway back to this date...
It started on the way to the airport, we have a favorite place to eat in Tooele, its this local burger place called American Burgers
ITS SOOOOOO GOOOD!!!! We love it! They have amazing fries (which we ate before I could take a picture of them) and the best, I'm not kidding, burgers ever!
mmm yummy! Since we rarely go out anymore, I cook at home a ton, we figured it was okay to splurge... so we did!
Then we drove to Salt Lake thinking that we were picking up the kids for their delayed flight coming in at 11 instead of 7:30. So we thought of the idea to go see the Joseph Smith movie at the liberty theater to pass some time. We didn't make it, we got there at 7:25 and they said we need to be early, at this point we still needed to find parking...which we did! Dave is the MASTER parallel parker, considering he never really had to learn look where he fit our cute car!
We then got a phone call and found out the kids flight was canceled and they are coming first thing the next day.Anyway so we walked around temple square. It had been a little while since we've been there. In one of the visitor's centers they have a model of the SLC temple. You can see all the rooms in great detail. It was so amazing! Dave had also never been to the Joseph Smith building to see the view of the temple from there...so we went and I took this beauty!

here are a few more pictures from our adventure!

We had so much fun together! Oh I love him so much!

I wish I had taken pictures!

Over the course of the last couple weeks the post we live on has decided to redo everyone's roof so its the same red metal. Well this process is the slowest one I've ever been a part of. The first day about two weeks ago they took off all the old shingles and left the mess all over our yard (which also meant we couldn't get out of the house..); old roof tape, nails, shingles etc. At first I thought okay well I hope they clean it up...well a week went by and they came to weather proof (I think that's what they were doing anyway) our roof and also take off the gutters (which left the dog and I stranded in our house basically all day again...which means the dog held her potty...you heard it, she HELD HER POTTY ALL DAY! So good!!!) I wish I had taken pictures of this mess....but of course me not thinking it was going to be that big of a deal I didn't. They cleaned up the big stuff, I mean they better right? Isn't that part of their job? They left all their nails and roofing tape everywhere some was even in a pile in our backyard. Me thinking, ya know its okay they'll clean it up after they put the new roof on led to be a mistake. Our cute neighbor (who helps us and lets us use whatever he has that we need whenever we want AND gives us tomatoes...gross I know, but Dave and Ethan love them) and I were talking the other day and he told me he got an email from Dugway that basically was someone complaining about the mess the workers are leaving and a couple people's tires have nails in them and are flat. Well I guess the workers hate that the renters are complaining and just started not caring even more and just decided to leave their mess.Irresponsible people really upset me! So this morning I came to my senses and realized that they weren't going to be cleaning it up anytime soon, if at all, and if we wanted to go outside and not come back in with nails in our shoes and feet/paws then I must clean it up. So I took a garbage bag (once again I wish I had taken pictures of this mess) and went out to clean it up. It took be half an hour to pick up all their tape, nails, cig buds, little plastic circle things, wood, and shingles. At least now our house looks better without all that crap laying on our patio and lawn!

Crafts!!

Seeing as how I don't have a job yet out here in the middle of nowhere...I've been keeping myself AND the kids busy!

Natalie loves to wear the flower bows that I make, so I taught her how to make them and she basically wears them everyday. I thought this was a cute storage idea for all the ones she doesn't wear during the day...

I found some sparkly hot pink ribbon and glued some flowers on. I also found some old gems in my craft stuff and glued some of those on too. Then I took some flower bows I made for Natalie and started adding them to the ribbon. I hung the ribbon up on every other wall in her room (mainly because I ran out of ribbon and the nearest store is 45 min away). Cute huh?

Also we had the kids a couple weekends ago, Dave had meetings all day in Tooele, so I got to be the entertainer! I made them each a sign with their name on it and had them color it and use stickers to decorate it. I found some flowers with mirrors on them (from an old YW's thing) for Natalie and then I made some soccer balls for Ethan. I had them decorate their doors! I think they turned out SO cute!

Natalie also found a picture of a dog she thought looked like Pookey and colored it (like Pookey, including her rhinestone dog collar) and added it to her door.

Pookey loves Natalie's room too!

Tune in for this weekends project...I'm SO excited!!! It'll be so fun to have a...well you'll just have to read again next post to find out wontchya!
